Who we are - Wdeo

A national women’s advocacy organization for Sudan that promotes gender equity, sustainable development, and the integrity of the environment.

Women Development and Environment Organization (WDEO) was established on February 25, 2022, as a youth non-governmental voluntary organization founded in Sudan with a registration certificate on HAC.

WDEO is an open and inclusive organization that welcomes all youths across the world without discrimination to race, ethnicity, color, national origin, citizenship, creed, religion, age, abilities, sexual orientation or income.

WHY WOMEN?

Women play a crucial role in shaping societies, driving economic growth, and promoting sustainable development. Their contributions in various sectors, including education, healthcare, business, and environmental conservation, are vital to the overall progress of any nation. However, gender disparities often limit their opportunities, making advocacy for women's rights essential. Empowering women leads to improved social and economic outcomes, as they invest in their families, communities, and future generations. By ensuring equal access to education, leadership roles, and economic opportunities, women can drive positive change, create more equitable societies, and build a sustainable future for all.

WDEO actively promotes women empowerment by fostering equal opportunities, leadership, and participation in community development and environmental sustainability.
